Greene County Fairgrounds in Xenia

Just spent 10 days at the Greene County Fair Ground.  Nice place to park with 50 amp service and water.  No sewer but two dump stations.  That is me parked in the middle of nowhere.

As you can see, there is no one here but me.

Left on Thursday and went to Perrysburg, Ohio.  Parked at my son's house.

Good Sam Spring Rally in Randolph Ohio

Good Sam Spring Rally in Randolph.   We were there 9 thru 12 May.  Good entertainment.  We saw "Sunday Drive" again and they are still good.  Rained one night and the weather was windy and cold.  Went to Hartville Kitchen one night for dinner.  Amish food.

NCT Southwestern Buckeyes #1 at Darke County Fairground

Southwestern Buckeyes NCT campout.  We traveled to the home of Don Baker who is a wood carver.  What beautiful work.  These are locks made of wood that all work.

 This hammer is for someone that can not see the nail.  He has two chances to hit it.

 This Honda motorcycles is 3/4 size built to scale.  It has over 1000 parts.

 This is Don Baker with the chain he made from a board that was about 17 feet long.  When he was done the chain was about 22 feet long.

 Ron and Phyllis Ullery who prepared a sauerkraut and pork dinner for the campout.  Excellent meal.  Thanks Ron and Phyllis.

Wonderful campout.  Little cold but nice most of the days.  Next campout is Ohio State Rally. Hope to see you there.

NCT Derby City Travellers in Renfro Valley

The Derby City Travellers had a rally here in Renfro Valley.  They were joined by several members from Ohio.  All told, I think we had over 15 units for the campout.  On Friday Night, we saw the Nitty Gritty Dirt Band.  On Saturday Morning, we had a wonderful breakfast prepared by the Kookin Kampers from Ohio.  On Saturday Night, we had Local Talent for an old fashion barn dance.  Excellent entertainment.  On Sunday Morning, all of our group left for home but we will stay until Tuesday and then head for Greenville Ohio.

 This weekend, all of the 35 slots were full.  Nice campground with full hookups.

Good Sam Rally at KOA Campground in Okeechobee

This is the Good Sam Rally in Okeechobee Florida on April 16-21.  Beautiful weather but hot in the 90s most of the time.  We were right on the golf course and I got hit by a golfball from the golf course.  No damage but the ball hit my chair while I was out reading.  Good entertainment with the one on Friday Night excellent.   They were called the Sunday Drive from Tennessee.  There were around 400 units at the Rally.  We had a beautful campsit right on the Golf Course.

The theme for the Rally was "Mad Hattess".  They had a contest and parade.  Some of the hats.

Florida Winter Samboree at Rodeheaver Boys Ranch

 

Bill and Carol Brauer and the Vaughns attended the 2013 Winter Samboree at Rodeheaver Boys Ranch at Palatka Florida on Feb 26th thru Mar 3rd.  There were around 300 rigs there with over 50 first time visitors.  We were received by the State Director, Joe and Debbie Weston and his state staff in a very friendly manner.  The State Director and his staff were beside the road when we left waving everyone goodbye.  Outstanding Rally

 This is Butterfly Island where we received the Fuzzy Pucker Initiation.  It was a fun degree and everyone enjoy the degree.

 On Butterfly Island they have butterfly homes.  This is one of them.

  

 This was part of the entertainment one day.  They played these instruments for about an hour and they were very unique.

 I do not know what you call this instrument but there were several of them in the band.

 There were several games played.  Beecher Vaughn and Bill Brauer played in the Euchre Tournement and Beecher won first place and Bill took second place.  Ellen Vaughn and Carol Brauer played Chicken Foot Dominos and Carol got second place.  Bill, Carol and Ellen played Bean Bag Baseball but lost the first game.  They had another interesting game called Holey Board which was a washer game with the board having three holes.  Bill, Carol and Ellen played Bocci Ball and went to the third round but then got beat.  This is the picture above.

 We had some very good entertainment.  On Wednesday Evening we were entertained by Homer Stiles who was a singer.  On Friday Evening we were entertained by a band called the Mid-Life Crisis from the Purdue Indiana area.  On Saturday Evening we were entertained by Sarah Getto pictured above and below.  She is 29 and was born blind and the top of her mouth was missing.  Her lip was on the end of her nose.  With surgery they did wonders and she look great now.  She attnded school and received a degree in music.  She could sing like several stars and did great.  Great entertainment.

 

All in all, a great rally.  On Wednesday morning we had coffee and sausage bisquit.  On Thursday morning we had coffee and donuts.  Thursday noon we had a hot dog lunch.  Friday morning, we had coffee and sausage gravy and biscuits.  Friday noon we had BBQ sandwiches and then an ice cream social followed by a flea marker in the middle of the building.  Saturday morning we had coffee and donuts and for lunch we had meatball subs.    Great rally and we were treated as VIPs for the whole rally.  They had a hard rain before we arrived but when we got there the sun was out and the sun shinned for the whole rally.  It was cold a couple of nights but the days were wonderful.
